Ciara
Ciara is a Grammy Award- winning singer, songwriter and actress. She has just recently released her 6thstudio album, Jackie on May 4th (Epic Records / Sony Music Entertainment). Jackie marks an evolution for Ciara. “Musically and sonically, I’ve grown tremendously,” she says. “This I do believe, is my best body of work to date.” She explains that Jackie, named fittingly after her own mother,is her most vulnerable release. The singer strips down the veneers of perfection and lets fans experience her journey—a journey of love, loss, heartbreak and the transformative experience of motherhood--in a truly palpable way. “People will be able to hear and see my growth. I really hope that people will be able to connect with me.” Ciara enlists the music industry’s best and brightest producers and songwriters for her 13-track offering (Dr. Luke, Polow da Don, Harmony Samuels, The Underdogs (Damon Thomas & Harvey Mason, Jr.) and co-writers include Rock City, Ester Dean, LunchMoney Lewis, and Diane Warren. On the title track, “Jackie (B.M.F.),” Ciara comes out of the gate with a whopping bang, asserting herself with authority. “I’m a bad motherfucker!” she proclaims. Markedly upbeat, the album showcases Ciara’s signature r&b/pop along with a penchant for dance music. Her new single “Dance Like Were Making Love” (Produced by Dr. Luke) impacts Top 40, Rhythmic and Urban radio world wide on June 29th, and is a sultry summer-ready anthem primed to set dance floors around the world on
fire. Known for her dance abilities and choreography throughout her career, Ciara has been dubbed the “Queen of Dance.” From the seductive sway of the new single “Dance Like We’re Making Love”, to the global thump of “Stuck on You” (produced by Harmony Samuels), it’s clear she’s still the Queen of the dance floor. Ciara will also release remixes for the new single and collaborations with international producer and DJ R3hab. Ciara gets deeply personal on Jackie as well. Tracks like “Only One” and the lead single “I Bet” find the singer opening up about her personal life like never before. “I can sometimes be afraid of my own vulnerability, but this time I let myself face it. It came out in the music instead of holding it all in.” “Lullaby” (produced by Dr. Luke) reflects her fearless new take on love. “Baby when the lights go out in the room, I’mma put it down on you…I’m singing you this lullaby,” she croons on the ballad. One of the album’s most special tracks is the closer “I Got You.” Initially a lullaby written by Ciara for her son, Future Zahir Wilburn, hit maker Diane Warren wrote lyrics for the heartfelt track (produced by Ciara and Harmony Samuels). “I got ya back. I got you,” Ciara coos to her baby, who joins his mama on the song with additional vocals. With a career spanning over a decade, Ciara has sold over seven million albums and 16 million singles worldwide, including chart-topping hits “Goodies,” “Ride,” “Oh,” “1 2 Step,” and “Body Party.” “I Bet” adds to Ciara’s list of 27-charted hits, impacting urban and rhythm radio formats as well as Top 40 Mainstream radio.
